??? I am referring to the appearance of the double subfolder in the return url…? Are you meaning something else?

for me, yes it is solved….
in beta 3 perhaps you could look at the cyc plugin and take a page there… The path you took with wp-login.php is fantastic and I have seen it before in other login skin plugins… the coding for cyc plugin however, takes it to the next level…
Improvements in it’s code could be had as well. rather than having the admin code the theme page into the settings, perhaps having a location to enter the exact page/post/template from the current theme to use for login/password/registration/profile pages.
These difficulties with CYC are not something I would expect to be solved by this team… I mention these things, only because this is NOT the section of code I would like to see in SPF… ONLY the creation of register/login/profile pages that work, even across WP/WPMU boarders, and compatible with third party “Register Plus” type plugins.
Ok – well I am building Beta 2 now which includes all of the changes for MU – so far!
One of my teaks for later today (if I have the time) is to have a play with register plus to ensure we arre working well with it.
What we really need to know with beta 2 if possible, is what else is NOT working with MU 'out of the box' (i.e., not solved by other plugins).
Hopwfully be there in about an hour – maybe less.
my post # 15, was aimed at Radio as he originally posted about loign issues with wpmu… in post #1, he alluded to it working, but I suspect that was work arounds.

Andy,
With the exception of USER REGISTRATIONS, for which there is a workaround, I have found no other MU specific issues in Beta 2.
Confidence is HIGH – I have taken Beta 2 Live on http://BondageRadio.com 😎
And you believe that if we resurrected the old SPF registration form – just for MU – this would work?
possibly, the registrations would work, yes… I do not know how the old registration page differs from the normal wp-login.php on a standard wp install, or how it is hooked to wp-login.php
I have not looked at the code for Customise Your Community plugin, but they have hooked the wp-login.php in such a way that (possibly unintentionally) user registrations also work in WPMU without being redirected to wp-signup.php (normal registration page for wpmu).
CYC's hooks are compatable enough that Math Spam protection from SPF is compatable and appears on registration, as do custom feilds from Register Plus plugin.
If SPF could hook wp-login.php in this way and replace the form with SPF themed-skinned login/Registration pages, all is the better… Meta widgets would then work directly with SPF out of the box, and there would be no issues with blog based v forum based logins.

Thoughts beyond login/registration:
CYC also hooks and skins wp-admin/profile.php – unless the user has permissions other than subscriber. Here again, replacing the normal page with one generated dynamicaly.
SPF could benifit in this area as well, A single combination profile is better than two different front end/backend profiles.
I would look to CYC to find the hooks to skinning the backend profile… and also look to Register Plus for displaying all of the SPF profile data on what would normally be the backend profile.

now that it's writen out… this looks like a job and a half…
Compromise… these features probebly, require their own plugins… what is the posibility of breaking off the main build and creating a plugin/extention that works with SPF to do these things, in wpmu…
- SPF-MU Registration tool
- SPF-Profile Tool
The first, hooks wp-login.php to work with an SPF Login/Registration page…
The second – Skins and displays SPF profile data on the the backend profile wp-admin/profile.php thereby creating one single (now, front end) profile for members and guests.
WPMU v2.6.5 released yesterday… mutiple bug fixes…
Upgrading now to check compatability.
Yes – it;s possible it could be spun off as an additional ‘SPF Component Plugin’ but as you say, time may be the problem there…
ok… multiple issues here… thank god for backups
the links in the MU forums regarding wpmu 2.6.5 linked me to the wp 2.6.5 download
didn't catch the mixup until AFTER I installed and fubared my SQL
I have deleted the the fubar'd tables and recreating from yesterday's auto backup, all 109MB worth (unfortunately I have to manually 'chunk' it as the server's phpmyadmin only allows 32mb chunks, and anything over 16mb times out and has to be uploaded multiple times).
still in process
on another note, the plugin STAT-PRESS is making me mad… over 90 of those MB are stat-press visitor logs each in it's own table for each sub-blog, which tables didn't delete when the plugin was disabled (also a resource hog and killed performance)
