I'd like to request two new public forums in the discussions Group.

Skins and Themes Help and Discussions

and

Hooks, Codes, Hacks and SEO Help and Discussions

By breaking the help up a bit, it should allow folks to find answers a bit better for common questions. by holding open discussions on some issues, we may also move users to help each other.

On the face of it this doesn't seem like a bad idea. Steve? Opinion?

However, if we are in the mood to reorganise fora then I do have some other suggestions for consideration:

  1. Move V3 and V2 plugin forums into a new legacy group.
  2. Move the dev and doc discussions into a new 'private' group.
  3. Create Radios new two under plugin support below the V4 forum.
  4. Review the current 'FAQ' forums. If we retain them they should be (a) locked and (b) more focused. They should be pruned and revamped to target specific issues with clear topic ttles. They seem a bit all over the place to me and the content is not clear from the titles.
  5. We have four or five 'pinned' topics in the V4 plugin forum. They need to go and if there is anything there of importance it needs moving to the FAQs if we retain them.
  6. And lastly – the biggie…. MU. It either needs it's own forum or – in the light of what seems to be an ever widening gap between WP and WPMU we need to abandon it. We basically need an MU developer on board.

Thoughts? Opinions? Comments? Howls?

like it… was going to make the same suggestion on private group…  go for it…  I like the idea of a mu forum too…  and definitely like the idea of a mu developer…  Andy and I are just not familiar enough with it and dont use it…  it seems to be diverging (and I dont necessarily mean that in a bad way) from wp…

OK – I have made the new forums and groups.

Let's talk about the FAQ forms and FAQ topics. No offence Radio but your titles don't really tell me what is in them!

Unless there are major objections, I am going to delete the two current FAQ forums and unpin the FAQ topics in V4 forum. Tomorrow.

I am happy to have an FAQ forum (although I much prefer the FAQ document) but I think it needs starting from scratch.

Looks good…  I have updated all the RSS feeds for the new ones to use feedburner too…

I would also recommend if we come across a topic that resurfaces that better fits in one of the new forums, we should move it…

Agreed. And forgot we had changed the feeds….

OK – looks like the FAQ forums are going. I have an idea on that….. although I need to mull it over first…

another question on the new forums…  should we add the topic status to the other spf 4.x forums (ie skins, code, wmpu, etc)?
