Starting to be more things we need to discuss as we go forward. have been opening tickets for some, but want to re-engage the dev forum for this, so kicking it off with the upgrader.
the one click upgrader is essentially done. but what needs to be finalized is how we want to handle the phone home part for latest version. we started an email discussion on this while back, but frankly, cannot remember what we said, but do remember it wasnt finalized.
the version check file does need to change from the current one – more info including the archive to grab and use.
Do we want to maintain a 4.x version check file and then a new one for 5.x? I think one per series (ie 4.3.x and 4.4.x) is overkill. We do afterall, want to encourage folks to upgrade. But we do need new one for 5.0, especially if we go the paid support route.
Naming convention for the version check?
So thoughts here? I have posted the sample 5.0 version check I am using below…
