thought quite a while on what to post here…  do I add mine to your list or just put in my own list and we find common ones?  Also, didnt address the ones already done or in work (not necessarily assigned though)…

so decided on the latter, and here is what I think we should do:

1. Defects that are Normal, High or Critical (might want to review and make sure they really are defects)
2. Profile overhaul
3. Generic uploader
4. Confguration system
5. Blog link topics (quite popular and several open tickets to enhance)
6. Comments (bring up to 2.7 and enhance – also quite popular)
7. Javascript in footer (wp 2.8 issue)
8. PM updates
9. Watches/Subscriptions (remove without visiting topic)
10. Sub Forums
11. Points system
12. Ranks images (ie badges)
13. Tagging system
14. More ahah/jquery

Its a big list and cant maybe do em all…  Lots of single tickets too that we might want to address but that wouldnt make a list like this…  I am thinking of this list as major new functionality…

I tried to put them in priority order too…  # 5 and #6 show up prominently on my list (and not in yours at all) because they are existing functions that people are using and enjoying but they are kind of half done.  One of those things were folks really start using them and now we need to finish or extend the capability. Would like to make sure we “finish” them up before we add too many more new capabilities.

What did I leave off from your list?

1. Front end popup help
2. Housekeeping routines

They are sure to generate some discussion and certainly not saying not important – just to me less important.

The thing about housekeeping is that it can help us cut down potential support problems!

OK – good list. Do we need to carve these tasks up? Out if the tasks that appear on BOTH lists these are the main ones I would really like to do the coding for:

1. Profile
2. Configurator
3. PMs
4. Sub forums

I would also suggest then, that we start bumping those that clearly dont make this kind of a list to 4.2 (or 5.0 if thats next based on previous discussion).  Will help keep the 4.1 list more manageable and set expectations.  We can always pull back in if time permits.

Thought you might like to take a swipe a 'tags'…. Thought you might fancy 'polls' as well but  see neither of us included that….

Agree to bumping as log ass not bugs but I would go for 4.2….

I may very well take a pass at tags, but not until I clear out my currently assigned tasks…  polls would be nice, but its a large undertaking and fear we already have a lot of large tasks for a dot release…

Oh, and 4.2 already exists in svn…

with WPMU there are things that I would need to ask for on the things on your lists:

Registrations:

Ability to select alternate registration/recover pass/blog signup url.

Profiles:

Ability to select alternate profile urls (i.e. Edit own, Public viewable, view selected, members list)

PMs:

 Ability to select alternate inbox/sent/compose/pm selected urls

Avatars:

ability to use BuddyPress avatars (only slightly different than WP)

Site Admin:

Ability to set these options and lock away from blog admins globally, even if prior to sub blog installation (global data setting).

this mu is starting to worry me… they are deviating further and further from core wp… we are going to need darn near a full time mu developer just to keep compatible…
