I have fixed locked daily topics where I upload an information spreadsheet each day.
ie. Monday Ratings
Tuesday Ratings
etc etc
In SMF I was able to use the "Announce Topic" checkbox which would then send out an email to those who had subscriber to the level above topic containing each day's data - is there a way to do this now within the post when 'editing' it without manually sending a global PM each time.
If there isn't I would like to request it as a feature as at the moment I am using the "Announce" banner along the top of the forum which Mr Papa kindly created - please advise on how I could proceed. Thanks.

not sure I follow... users can already subscribe to forums and topics and get an auto email on new posts... the subscription emails can either be immediate or a daily/weekly digest...
am I missing something?

It's not a new post though - I just EDIT the existing post for whatever day of the week and upload a new daily excel file each day. It's kind of like a placeholder.

I guess a good logical place for it to be would be in the Forum Toolset under "Notify User" with an option to notify ALL forum members ie. with a checkbox ?

It might actually be worth your while to investigate mail list plugins. That would give you more options and control I suspect as well as an easy way to customise the message being sent,

You mean a mail list plugin specifically for the forum or for wordpress ?
At the moment I have a membership plugin which protects the forum for subscriber use only. I upload a daily ratings file under 'Monday', 'Tuesday' etc and would just like everyone notified when I have updated that post via PM - I previously used SMF forum and this was possible so hope it can be an option for a future Simple-Press release but for the moment I am using the Announce banner that Mr Papa put together which I think is fine for now. Thanks for the updates guys.
