Just new here.
After extensive testing with simple:press we have decided to migrate our forums from bbpress.
Now I have been told that there is not an easy shortcut so I would need you help if that is okay with you.
Where should I start with the migration?
Any help would be greatly appreciate.

first, are you sharing user database? ie does bbpress use wp user table? if not, are they at least synched up?
we can fairly easily get your forum data over to simple:press but the users are a bit more problematic if the are something completely different from wp users.
you can also take a look at our wiki in the importers section… We have left one of our older, out dated importers there to give folks an idea how to do this… Its not valid anymore but the general steps are correct…

Andy and I (the Simple:Press dev team) normally dont take on paying jobs as it detracts from the further development of Simple:Press. However, we would certainly like to have a bbpress importer in our arsenal, so I will re-raise the question with Andy…

I'm in version 3.0.5, the importer wouldn't work on this version?
I've done a crazy import from smf to phpbb to bbpress. :/
the crazy import shouldnt matter. we do not import everything.
you can try it on 3.0.5, should be okay, others have used it, but we only tested on 3.1…
