Forum/blog integration – forum links even for scheduled posts?

Hi,

Great to see that forum/blog integration will be a priority in 4.2.

May I request that you look into forum topics being created automatically even for scheduled posts? As I publish content from 7 writers I schedule all articles, and this is the single most crippling problem on my site right now. Having to be online just after a text is published to create a forum link is becoming a real problem, especially now that we're trying to remove comments completely and only use the forums.

We have to let the readers comment on the stories, so until this has been fixed we cannot disable comments by default, which makes the site look a bit silly, as there are both active comments and forum posts.

If this could be sorted out I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Toby – PS3bloggen.se

I haven’t looked into this yet (other priorities) but the reason we were unable to forge a link on future dated posts was simply that WP didn’t fire any actions for us to hook into. I have been told that this might have changed with 2.8 and this is indeed one of the tasks on the list for 4.2. So – if they have made it available at long last we will make use of it. Please just note that ‘if’!

Still have my fingers crossed for this, just so you know. I'm doing my best to avoid switching over to other forum alternatives, but my Community Manager on the site wants more input. This feature would make SimplePress indisposable 🙂
