In my own testing I was able to get comments left on the blog through Disqus to appear within the thread on the forum, however, going in the opposite direction forum to blog post, things break down and the comment gets lost. 

Wondering if anyone has attempted to integrate the two and if there is any solutions or ideas floating around as to how this could be created?

I admit to taking a brief look at Disqus many moons ago and felt like it was opening a can of worms. If I recall correctly I couldn't find any good documentation to show how best to integrate third party services with it. I might be tbinking of something else but I am pretty sure it was Disqus.

A user had suggested we look at it and you will be the second!

So I join you, If anyone out there knows their way around Disqus and the Disqus API we would appreciate some pointers.

I was doing this testing myself a few months ago and gave up on it as it was frustrating and not productive.

I think, if I recall correctly, there's a disconnect in the way the forum outputs the comments to WP and the way that Disqus interprets those comments, but because Disqus creates WP comments they pass through to the forum no problem. 

Anyway - good to hear that someone else, with a lot more knowledge than myself on the subject, at least spent some time looking at it.

We do have a ticket open somewhere for this as a future development.

any updates on this? we use disqus and were looking to use the blog linking plug in, curious if they work together?

I am going to have to go back to notes which I think may be on another machine! bit if I recall correctly the problem was finding good information on the Disqus API that made it possible to interface usefully with it. But I will endeavour to try and find my notes.
