Maybe not that faster but it will reduce the code footprint so not so much is loaded whch s always a good thing.

for your other question then yes – you can have as many user groups as you like and mixing those with permissions can gove an almosr endless set of capabilities.

You might also want to look at forum ranks – a way of creating small groups of users who are special in some way (although still bound by the permissions granted them).

Is there a feature where we can Send an Automatic PM (welcome message) to the new user who logs in for the first time – providing him with some info (say asking him to start off wid intro page or read forum rules)
