what are these awards?  how are they earned?  actions or just given?

we have multiple similar…  in core, you have special ranks… they are really just a special title and badge (image, icon, etc) that you can give to users…  the rank info plugin for sp is a way to show the list of ranks (normal and/or special) and who has that rank (award level)…

we also support cubepoints (and very shortly mycred) for giving points and awards for various activities around the site…

and finally there is the post thanks plugin which allows users to earn points and titles when their fellow users thank them for a post…

I have tried the Special Ranks, and they do not work the way I would need for them to display a icon in the postbit. Also only 1 rank displays, so you would have to make the displaying rank, the rank with the award.

Awards are a simple image, something like this: Award but would display in the postbit with a title of Awards: Image here.

Admins would upload the award image, title the award and issue the award/awards to users.

not sure what you mean by postbit…

and a user can have multiple ranks and display all…

so still not sure if its just admin awarded why it wouldnt work for you…  but have made a note about awards…

Then I am not understanding the custom Forum ranks, because they only display 1 image in the Postbit.

The Postbit is the field that you find the Avatar, User Name, Location, Rank, on a users post. Currently I just get 1 image displayed.

If you give a user multiple special ranks, all badges will show…  its optional if you want titles or not…  just tested and its working as expected…

How do you assign the admin a special rank?

The same way as anyone else. Create your special rank and then ‘add member’ to it – in this case your Admin user.

Where do or how do I “Add Member” to the Special Rank?

forum – components – forum ranks… in the middle is the special rank section…

Added myself to a Special Rank with a badge, how ever the Special Rank and Badge do not show on the Postbit side. All that shows is “Admin” (My original rank).

And to clarify, Post Bit being the same location below my Avatar in these forums where the Silver Membership badge is.

so did you see my post #6?  please make sure your sp theme has that function call in it… typically right after the normal forum rank display template tag…   you can look in our default theme too in the spTopicView.php template file…

I did see your post, I just did not understand where to place that code, or what code to place.

Sp themes are just like wp themes… There are templates for different page types… And a template is a collection of display template tags that position and display the page elements…

By default the sp themes are located in wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes

In each theme there is a templates directory that holds the various template files… In this case, you want the spTopicView.php template file…

I was asking you to check and see if that template file has the special rank display template function…

I will take a look tomorrow, I am using the .CSS theme currently.
