Thoughtful and very much appreciated…
Support Forum
What you have created is a wonderful piece of software and obviously you need to make a living. I just find these new membership plans and bundles extremely confusing. I was about to leave and give-up but decided to give some feedback.
Now, a person has to research each plugin, read up on it, decide which ones they might want to use (not knowing fully how they work or what they do until they see it in operation), add up the prices of each plugin or theme, do some math, pick an appropriate membership level to maximize savings and try to figure out how long they might need support for and the best plan for them. Totally confusing and unfortunately I think this might do more harm than good for you.
If you had a simple Platinum-Level plan that gives someone access to everything (all plugins and themes) along with priority support for one-low price, it’s makes the purchasing decision extremely simple. One price to get it all.
Please take this into consideration. Thanks.
Wishing thinking that we could make a living from simple press 🙂 not even close… but certainly much better than a couple years ago where we were having to put money from our pocket into each and every month…
the biggest complaint (and it was more than a couple) about the old rigid membership system was that users couldnt not by a single plugin or two… quite a few users claim to have left because they were not willing to purchase a membership just to get a plugin or theme… its a tough one – trying to please all…
We are seriously considering a platinum membership that would give access to all… quite a few details (including cost point) to work out, but I would expect something in the near future…
btw, we love feedback, so thanks for sharing…
@mr-papa , another option would be to have people use a plugin for free for a period (eg. one week or a month) and then have them decide to buy or not to buy if they want to use it longer. That way playing around with all the options and their value for your particular set-up can be evaluated. However I don’t know if that is technically feasible. However platinum is more simple I suppose.
we thought about and seriously investigated it… would take some sort of license manager within the plugin to control… that by itself is fairly easily doable… but the big problem was continuing to honor our commitment that anyone who was using a plugin they had download, would continue to be able to use the plugin and receive updates… maintaining that, and adding some sort of license manager was not something we could readily find a solution for or come up with a reasonable solution ourselves…
but we continue to look and evaluate this kind of thing…
thanks for the feedback…
by popular request, new platinum membership level with forum access and all plugins/themes, now available…
I have a question about the platinum level.
My “Gold Legacy” membership expired this week, so with about 24-hrs to renew, I upgraded to Platinum to be able to access all of the new themes and plug-ins in the future. (Strangely, even 3 days after upgrading I get reminders that my membership is expiring).
Anyway, I’m a little concerned about the “All free Plugin/Theme Discounts will be valid for 1 month from membership purchase” line on the membership plans page.
Does that mean that I have to go through the shop process of all of the plug-ins that I didn’t use until now, to make sure that I have access to them in the future?
What happens when you release a new plug-in or theme, is that included in the platinum level after the first month?

We have heard this from a few other people as well and I am sorry about that. The plugin we use is set to just send the one but sometimes it seems to forget this… I will take another look. We may have to report it as a bug.

I will have to consult with the colleague who set the store up – who is currently away fro a few days – but my understanding is that this relates to the actual discount code you have available for use (offering, in your case 100% discount). I am unsure why the 1 month timeframe unless that too is a product of the software plugin in use. Please rest assured however, that your 1 year access will be honoured even if it means issuing a new code.

As I say – there will be 12 months access. But if you chose you could now download the ‘all plugins bundle’ (https://simple-press.com/downloads/all-plugins-bundle/) which would allow you to have them even if you do not install and activate them.

Absolutely yes. Anything new is available within the membership period and fully updated post-membership.
The message is intended to apply to free plugin and theme discount codes… Some memberships get the codes for free downloads… the platinum membership does not use discount codes… you can simply download anything at no cost… might be a better way to clarify the text…
