We are diligently working on Simple:Press's new default theme. Our objective is to provide a contemporary design that is fully responsive. It will also be easier to modify using CSS or by creating a child theme and overriding small template files.

 

There is still some work to do on the implementation; however, we will start using it on this forum starting today. This allows us to detect issues and bugs more efficiently by using it ourselves.

 

Following the initial test, we will proceed to the second stage: a closed beta test open to anyone interested in testing the theme, with the understanding that it may still contain a few bugs and may not yet support all add-ons.

 

Our third step will encompass a public beta, where everyone will have the opportunity to try out the theme.

 

Finally, once we have extensively tested and refined the theme, it will become the default theme included in new installations.

 

Since we have used up most generic theme names, we thought it apt to introduce a new naming convention: naming themes after the world's capital cities. As a tribute to our hometown, we will name the forthcoming theme "Stockholm."
