Hi,

I was on the way to drop WP Foro and get Simple Press for my platfrom http://www.esportindustry.com. Sadly I cannot even activate the core platform. It throws me a

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sp_get_option() (previously declared in [..]/esportindustry/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/functions/template-tags/deprecated.php:500) in/[..]/esportindustry/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-api/sp-api-primitives.php on line 95

What is the reason for it and is there a way to solve it to test the plugin?

WordPress protocol advises that all function names in a plugin have a unique prefix identifier to avoid conflicts. So all of SP's function start with 'sp_'.

I am guessing you are using the Events Calendar plugin which, for some reason, also used an 'sp_' prefix.

As I understand it, the authors of that plugin have changed their code and what you need to do is:

  1. deactivate the Events Calendar plugin.
  2. activate and install Simple:Press
  3. reactivate Events Calendar

The order here is important!
