Hi,

I run simple:press 4.5.1 and it's time to upgrade.

I checked the plugins and I'm a bit confused.

With the old version I use the forum ranks where I set fixed titles and badges for my members, that have nothing to do with number of posts etc.

Is this possible with the new version of simple press and with what plugin?

thanks in advance

Ranks and Special Ranks do not need a plugin, They are built in to the core.

I am amazed there are people still running old V4 versions. And a bit impressed - although worried about the WordPress version you must be using! Don't forget that upgrading Simple:Press will also need the latest WordPress as well.

There are detailed instructions here for upgrading from V4 to V5: https://simple-press.com/docum.....rsion-4-5/

Hehehe my forum has only 40 members, so it's not very demanding.

The need to upgrade came from the fact that the old version doesn't play well with phones and tablets. I hope the new version to removes this problem.

Atm I run Wordpress 4.5. From 4.6 and up, simple press 4.5.1 doesn't play.

Thanks for the answer.

for phones and tablets, just be sure to be using a responsive wp theme and a responsive sp theme...  for sp, those would be reboot, unified and barebones...
