Tied to upload an image to show you, but it wants a URL source, and won't let me browse to insert it.

it wont want a url - you must be using the tinymce insert image url button instead of our image uploader (which as guest you may not have permission to use)...
sounds like a js conflict or security plugin messing with the ajax query args...
if you need detailed support, please open a topic in the support forum - this one is for pre membership queries, not support...
