fails to update version 5.6.3 to 5.6.3.1

Hello, when upgrading from version 5.6.3 to 5.6.3.1 I get this:

“It appears you are attempting to downgrade your Simple:Press Version. The Build or Version number in the sp-control.php file is lower than the currently installed version in the database.

You must restore your database to this earlier version before you can continue. You cannot simply downgrade Simple:Press files as the database has been upgraded beyond the version you are attempting to downgrade to and may cause irreparable damage to the database.”

the message is pretty clear… the version of simple press you have on your site (in wp plugins directory) is an older version than what is already installed (and in the db)…

so look in sp-control.php for the version of the plugin files… and in the db in sfoptions table for option name of sfversion… compare…

those are builds, not versions… versions would be helpful…

but really, for detailed help, you need to open a topic in the support forum as this is pre membership query forum…

Can you go to the forum admin > install log and tell us what is the very entry top version and build number?

SOLVED, the error was that sfversion = 6.0

Ah that would be it. You must have missed an update out that corrected that. Glad it was something simple.
