are there any instructions for the importer.
I am having trouble importing from smf, i get the message ‘Unable to connect to the source database using supplied information’ I just need to know what goes where

There are not really any instructions we can give on the values needed to enable the importer to connect to the source database. Only you know what they are. Normally they will be stored somewhere – just like WordPress has then stored in the wp-config.php file. But afraid I do not know where on an SMF system – nobody has even told me!
