SPF installation just exits with an error: “PROBLEM – The Install can not be completed”.

The message from JavaScript console is the only additional piece we could find. It may be related, or then not. Unfortunately, I have no expertise to debug this myself, since I’m not a programmer.

Could it be possible for you to install the Shopp plugin and test if you can reproduce the error? Maybe it tells more to you than to me? https://shopplugin.net/download/

The cause of this is that something – probably this other plugin – is trying to send AJAX requests alongside the forum install. So perhaps it is hijacking our AjAX calls in some way.

You do need to ask them, But if it installs and works while this other plugin is deactivated then that might be the best way to proceed.

Any guesses on how likely it is that the behaviour only occurs at installation phase?

I would have thought that even if the conflict has only been noticed so far when installing, it could potentially affect an unknown quantity of other admin panel functionality, including possibly installing / updating other plugins.

Again, just a guess. Would be interested to see what the authors say.

They’re able to reproduce the erroneous situation. No news about resolution, yet.

please keep us informed… our heads are a bit down right now with the wp 4.1 release due any day (maybe tonight)… and so we are prepping our next release too…  perhaps when things settle down, we can take a look of nothing new…

A step forward: a Shopp plugin issue report has been now filed.

https://github.com/ingenesis/shopp/issues/3170

However, situation cannot be reproduced in all envinroments.

And, there is no estimate on correction schedule.

Yes, progressing step by step. Looks like a Shopp developer will now take a look at the issue on our test install.
