Using Amazon S3 for uploads

Hi there,

We’re interested in using this forum system for an upcoming project but we have a question about the file uploads/attachments.

The users for this forum will need to upload/attach some large files to share around. We think the best way to handle this from a storage perspective is to use Amazon S3 (for instance via https://wordpress.org/plugins/amazon-s3-and-cloudfront/), as that way they can upload files as large as they like.

So my question is – if we set up the above plugin for Amazon S3, will the Simple Press uploads also use Amazon S3 (since all WP uploads are being redirected that way)? If not, can Amazon S3 be set up?

No afraid not…  simple press currently requires storage to be on the wp site itself…

unless its possible to set up on your server to have a directory with the wp-content folder pointing (symlink or such) to Amazon S3… but guessing probably not..
