a couple things come to mind.  Have you looked at other skins?  maybe like lifestyle or structure green?  think lifestyle in particular would match your wp theme better, but its obviously your call.

Also, do you notice all that extra spacing?  your wp theme is adding this.  in your style.css, find line 385 and you will see its set a very high line size of 20px and an extra 10px of padding at top and bottom.

If you like it spaced out that much, then great, just leave it.  I usually try to tighten up my spacing a bit so as not to have to vertically scroll to see stuff too much.  If you want to reduce that spacing, try something like

also at line 241, your theme is adding white backgrounds to images which is why some look odd.  That same styling is also adding a border of 1px #c8c8c8 to images which is why some look odd with borders.
