I’m back!

It seems everything is working fine. Some problems with iPad…

When inserting a quote, no name of the person that has been quoted and no background.

Sometimes, the button “Add reply” doesn’t work. It’s necessary to refresh the page all the time. This thing happens with Mac/Chrome and Mac/Safari as well.

With iPhone, no “Login” button.

That’s it…laugh

sorry, is this specifically tied to the async javascript plugin???  or a more generic issue?  if the latter, please open a new topic so its easier to handle and clear…

Steve, the problems are related to Async Javascript plugin.

If I switch it off, things get back to normal.

So they are just IOS related? IS that with the latest iPad hardware and IOS software?

Good question, Steve…

I don’t know, I will find out and get back to you.

Damn…it was Andy! laugh

I asked, they told me they are using the OS 7.0.4.

People have problems with the OS Windows on mobile phones as well. For them (same as with iPhone/iPad), the button “Add reply” doesn’t work straight away, they need to refresh the page.

Should be no difference between mobile and desktop loading. The script files are the same so if they experience the problem on one platform it should be replicated on the other. You would really need to find out what, when and how this plugin is loading the scripts. Maybe it is trying to cache consolidated scripts (i.e., in one file) which could cause problems as plugins like Simple:Press only load their scripts on the forum pages when needed. SO if a user came from a non-forum page to a forum page might it be possible that this plugin has not loaded all of the necessary scripts? I don’t know but it might be a possibility.

Andy, I suppose it’s possible…

The problem is, how do I find out?

Actually – I really don’t know. I am still looking for decent debug tools for iPhone/iPad.

A quick update…

I received an iPad mini as a gift from a company (thank you very much!) and the first thing I did was to visit my forum using it.

And guess what? Everything works perfectly!

So the problem is not related to the iPad but to something else I cannot figure out.

A few boys in Italy have problems with it. As I said, “Submit reply” works only after a refresh, the quote doesn’t work, often the smileys don’t work either.

I told them to empty the cache of the browser but the problems are still there.

I have no clue about it. Any other idea about something they could try?

To be honest nothing comes to mind. Your users (or each logged in user) may get different content to each other but the script files remain the same for everybody.

Did you check out what browser(s) this is happening on?

Andy, it is pretty strange…

Some of them have problems with Chrome. For some others, Chrome works perfectly. And it’s the same with every browser…No problem for some people, major problems for someone else…frown

Maybe you should try talking to the plugin authors although wether they could assist or not I with something so hazy I have no idea.

Found out something else!

A guy just told me that sometimes the editor at the top (TinyMCE) doesn’t show up.

And that’s when the quote doesn’t work!

It works perfectly for me, but they have some problems there.
