Adding ads to posts – is there a shortcut or plugin?

Is there a plugin for adding the usual suspect ads to forums.. before and after post etc?

No plugin no. But adding the code to your SP theme templates is simple. I would suggest you take a look at them and you should see the flow easily enough.

Or SP 5 has a rich API of standard WP actions and filters on every display element whoch can be harnessed for finer control.
