I have checked all the settings but nothing seems to fix the permission issue. It appears that all permissions carried over ok with the upgrade, and users should be able to see the forum but I keep getting this error.
I put the forum in maintenance mode for the time being but here’s what the forum looks like.
The site is www.tournamentpokeredge.com. If an admin needs access to our dashboard please let me know.
Was this an upgrade from an old (now VERY old) version 4,X forum?
If so then there was a problem, somewhere along the way, that seemed to effect a very small minority of people that, I am afraid, we never did get to the bottom of but had the effect of scrambling their permissions.
If this has happened to you then we would apologise but we have never managed to replicate it – even when given a users database backup where it happened to them!
The simplest solution – and believe me it really is the simplest – it to go to the forum admin > Permissions > Reset Permissions. As it says, the problem is that you will need to visit each forum record and rebuild the permissions but the alternative is working within the database and this really is quicker – just a bit long winded and annoying.
