Hi Guys,

Uppdated to the latest version today (from the last one 4.5.1).

Everything went good. But now i can’t see my forums and groups. The site http://mandeer.se/forum/

On the forum site i see “No groups have been created yet”.

In the adminpanel -> Forums-> Manage Groups and Forums all of my forums and groups are there (visable and working good).

When I klick on Users->Member Information i can see where the mambers has written lastest post and when i klick on that i come in the Forum and see all the topics ect. Link: http://mandeer.se/forum/problem-with-post-edit-buttonistoria/var-kommer-mandeernamandeism-fran-egentligen/

Don’t know what is wrong, appreciate any help you can provide.

Can you check the forum admin > Permissions and see if the sets you have in use are all set correctly…?

Thank you for the reply.

Have checked, it might be the problem.

When I try to Edit Permission then select some options and klick on Uppdate Permission I get “Permission Set Uppdate failed”

And when I try to “Add new Permission” I get the same note “New Permission Set Creation failed”

While I look into that – are the permissions all set to off or even empty? Is that the issue?

Agreed. And that case appeared to be isolated.
Are you able to get to look at your database tables and do you know how?
If so can you look at the ‘sfroles’ table and let me know the column names?

Noted that when I’m logged in as admin I can see a dropdown menu. The forums and topics can be accessed from there.

Can this problem be a “path” problem or is it just a permission problem. In the old version I could chose the path of the forum so that “Home” inside the forum lead to the forum mainpage, now home leads to the whole sites mainpage.

let’s get the permission issue dealt with first if we may.

For reasons I can not begin to explain your database has not been updated with these changes as it should have been. As you noted in the thread you found, we have had one other instance of this (early during beta) and clearly other aspects of your db were updated correctly. So – we may never know but we are investigating to see if we can spot anything.

What I can do – assuming you would rather not update all of these manually (although you can easily enough) is try and work up a sql script you can run. But I need some information first.

1 – I will need to know what SP plugins you may have activated so i can add these into the mix.
2 – All I can give you are the default – out of the box permissions. Is this going to be all right?

Grateful for the support.

Private Messaging v1.0.14 is the only new activated plugin in v.5.

The past version did not have plugins right?

2 – All I can give you are the default – out of the box permissions. Is this going to be all right?

I think so. And hope so 🙂

OK – do not activate any other plugins and I will come up with something.

Thank you.

Now i got this error:

ALERT TABLE `wp_mandeer_se_sfroles` CHANGE `role_actions` `role_auths` LONGTEXT;

MySQL said: Dokumentation

#1142 – ALTER command denied to user ‘MYSQL USERNAME’ for table ‘wp_mandeer_se_sfroles’

Can I uninstall and reinstall the forum? We don’t have many topics, we can rebuild the forum. Will it work in that case?

ps. I changed the table prefix to the name of the table.

This looks like it might be the source of the original problem then – if you do not have ALTER rights to your tables that would cause the issue.

Before you do anything else – regardless of whether you opt to start over – you really do need to talk to your host and have them upgrade your database permissions. or – if you have cpanel at your host – you should be able to do this yourself.

Great 🙂

One down, one more to go!

I uppdated the MySql premissions, and could use your script. Now I can change the premissions and everything on that front seems fine.

Now, when I’m logged in as admin this is what i see:

When I’m not logged in, this is what I see:

I even tryed to create a new forum, and a new group. They get created, but dosen’t show in the front.
