Is there any way to get a notification of everything members post sent straight to the admin email?

you can already get those in your admin options on forum – admin – your admin options…  any admin or moderator can get them…

Is there anything else which needs to be done to make this work?

I’ve got “Receive email notification on new topic/post” and “Receive notification (within forum – not email) on topic/post edits” enabled, but I’ve never actually had anything come to my email.

sounds like you wp mail may be having issues… simple press doenst actually send the emails, wp does…  on shared hosts, many wp sites have mail issues because wp send email from an address of wordpress@yoursite.com… on many shared hosts, and some other servers, if that email address doesnt actually exist in your server mail accounts, it wont get send as an anti spam measure…  the wp support forums have many topics on this…

if thats the case, you can normally get around it by installing an smpt plugin for wp, such as HGK SMTP…  it allows you to configure your email as something other than wordpress@yoursite.com…

have you set up anything on forum – options – email settings?
