Hi

I’m looking for a WordPress Forum that enables people to upload attachments and I’m a bit confused from reading the forums about what Simple:Press can and can’t do.

Am I right in saying that only the Beta 5 enables uploading of attachments when people post a comment?

Do you only enable pictures to be attached or do you enable all sorts of files (ie. zipped files, pdfs, epss, Word Docs – as well as jpegs, pngs, gifs, tiffs) ?

Do you have a general post with information about uploading files? My clients regard uploading files as one of the most important features of any forum.

Cheers

All versions of SP have allowed uploading but V5 does a much better job with a better, cleaner and simpler interface.

The forum admin determines what file types are allowed and size limits etc.

No documentation as yet – it is still under construction but you can try it here as you are a member.

Being a support forum we do put lowish limits on size but the procedure is the same. We also limit file types to what is needed for the type of forum this is.

Feel free to try it out

If I go on edit post I don’t seem to see any possibility to upload or delete attachments.

It is not currently supported in post edits.
This is under discussion at the moment.

admins can delete attachments using the forum tools…  if we add the attachments stuff on edit post, likely will be for adding new ones and not deleting…  but not likely to happen before 5.1…   but have had 3 or 4 requests for it now so just time…
