When I ran the auto update for the SP plugin.. Everything went great.. However, When I run the update to the "Default Theme" or any other theme it says everything installs successfully however this error now reads on my screen where the forum use to be...

SpgroupView.php] - Template File Could Not Be Found Or Opened

It completely wipes out the current theme used and all other themes in the folder.. I have to reupload them all .. It did this the other day and I though maybe something I changed on my own modified default theme might have caused this.. So i just uploaded the "Default" theme again with no personal modifications or custom themes .. along with all the other themes i.e. iforum, css etc..

Today it told me there was an update for my themes and SP plugin.. I check marked the "default" theme only and ran update.. but once again .. everything in the themes folder and all themes are gone ..Image Enlarger

I will raise this with Steve and open a ticket. I don't believe this is a universal issue so we may need to work out why it is happening on your site...

unfortunately, the wp updater is not perfect...  the process it follows is to remove the old plugin or theme before updating to the new one...  so if it removes the old one and something errors out on the new install, you will be in an unstable state...  this error condition can be caused by something on your server or in the communication in our server fetching the new download...

supposedly, soon the wp devs are supposed to be adding in partial upgrades where you they wont remove the old plugin or theme first...  they have already done that on core, but not made it available for plugins and themes yet...

as to themes, we have strongly recommended you not edit our default theme... if you make any changes they will be lost if you upgrade our theme...  and if you edited any of the files, it possible the upgrade failed because it couldnt remove the file because the owner/permissions changed...  but our codex (http://codex.simple-press.com) has a page on how to create your own theme using ours as a basis...
