Hey Meredith,

Take a look at Forum > Profiles > Avatar. You should see the avatar pool in the bottom right pane. You can upload from the bottom left pane and set priorities from the top right pane.

Yes, that is what I did. But they are still showing all the same custom ones that I made originally, I guess the default, unless the user uploads their own custom one.

OK forgive me here, maybe I’m getting the wrong end of the stick but it’s down to the user to select their own avatar from the pool from within their forum profile page – Profile > Edit Avatar > Select Avatar From Pool. They cannot upload avatars to the pool, only for themselves.

Is the avatar you originally uploaded still in the avatar pool?

Or are you saying that when you upload one to the pool it doesn’t add it?

I understand they can choose from the pool if they like.  These are added by us and I had no problem adding a collection of them.

I guess what I am saying is I must have originally added a default avatar somewhere (as seen in the sidebar screenshot)  but I can’t find it. I would rather they have to choose one from the pool or get one assigned automatically at random instead of the same default one I originally added ( which I can’t find where)

Is it possible the default SP avatar image has been changed? That would mean that if a user doesn’t have a Gravatar, hasn’t selected one from the pool or uploaded one they would be assigned the default avatar.

No the avatar pool can’t be randomly applied, it’s really there for the user to find an alternative to the default avatars – But at least you can now customise those!
