Can't Activate Beta -"The plugin does not have a valid header"

I just downloaded the beta and installed via WP by uploading the simple-press-5.0.0-7831.zip.

It stated that it installed successfully, but then upon activation, I got “The plugin does not have a valid header.”

Is there an issue with how I installed it? I am on latest version of WP 3.3.1, PHP 5.3.8.

Thanks,

where did you upload it to??  it needs to be in wp-content/plugins and the folder should be called simple-press…

how did you upload it?  hopefully not with filezilla which is notorious for failing on large files or an upload with large number of files…

I used the WP admin feature to upload a plugin from a zip file located on my hard drive. Plugins > Add New.

It did create the directory, which I just checked. When I installed, WP reported the usual, “unpacking plugin” etc., and stated “plugin installed successfully.”

Then when I clicked to activate, it returned the error that the header was not valid.

I just tried again – and it worked. Ran installation. Very excited. Thanks!
