I seem to be having problems upgrading from 4.5.1 and the instructions from the 5.0 page mostly seems to refer to 4.4.5. Can anyone please tell me exactly how to upgrade properly?

But there is no really no difference between 4.4.5 and 4.5.1 except for WP 3.3 support.

Thanks I did find this page after posting here, and the install went fine with the exception that there’s 2 dropdown menus labeled “select forum” in the upper right-hand corner. How would I go about fixing this?

have you tried the forum – integration – page and permalink panel and different combinations of the multiple display and display in loop options?

I’m sorry I don’t quite understand what you mean…

in your wp admin are a bunch of sp admin panels… go the forum integration admin panel and then the page and permalink sub panel…  you will see two options you can change dealing with multiple display of the forum and displaying within in the loop…  your wp theme may be doing abnormal things so try different combinations of those two to get rid of your second content…

I’ve tried different combinations of settings within the forum – integration options if that’s what you mean…

I’m still seeing two menus. Based on what you said I even cleared out browser cache, and tried flushing theme cache.

I have seen this theme before and the problem is caused by over-zealous CSS in the theme stylesheet.

Please see this thread – https://simple-press.com/support-forum/sp5-general-topics/bug-in-the-display/

Note that neither of those users ever came back to tell me if the fix worked. Perhaps you could try it and let me know.

FYI: Me too, in Firefox. But unfortunately I have no advice for a possible fix.

You mean you are seeing this as well Jim?

if you are using the same theme then the same fix might work. Just waiting for one of the three people who reported it to come back and tell me if it does.

Okay, almost got it…changed in the styles.css file:

.selectBox-dropdown to .searchbutcat .selectBox-dropdown, and got rid of everything but the text link, lol. So, how do I get rid of the text link..

That’s sad when others don’t update threads like this, as it leaves everyone wondering if the help they received worked or not when they don’t share their results..But we’re about a find out or come up with a solution, I hope 🙂
