I made a topic called "British Stories" (the name of my course) and it had the slug /british-stories.

I've since deleted that topic, and I want to make a forum with the same name. However I'm unable to get the slug "british-stories" ... instead I get "british-stories-1"

... is there any way to free up this slug? I guess it's still stored in the database somewhere, even though it's no longer in use.

if you really deleted the topic, simple press is not 'holding' the slug... did you by chance make it a blog linked topic such that a wp post was created that would have the same slug?
