Deactivate Unread Post Notices

Greetings,

The administrator is still being notified about all post activity, even though the admin configuration “Receive email notification on new topic/post” and “Receive notification (within forum – not email) on topic/post edits” and not checked?

As a result, from the Dashboard, there are 134 forum posts listed in the postbag as well as “Unread: 134” from the top of the forum.

The administrator wants to do two things, purge the postbag completely and disable the listing of unread posts from the header on the forum.

Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks.

Click on the ‘View New Posts’ button on the Admin Bar and when it opens right below it is a button that clearly states ‘Empty the Admin Postbag’.

Beside the Button that brings up the personal unread post list is anothe ricon whose tooltip will say ‘Mark all topics as read’.

I must ay I am tempted to ask f the admin bar plugin is not being used why have it active? If you let it build up too any posts in there it will impair performance.

Exactly the details we were seeking. Up until recently, the admin did moderate and use the admin bar plugin, but it does make sense to now deactivate it since the features are not needed. Thanks for the guidance!
