How does one delete a user but keep their post and still have their name attached to them.
I know you can delete a user in WP and then reassign their posts to another existing user, however I’d like to keep the originals posters name attached to their posts in the forum.
there is only a wp user… no different for forum…
so if you delete the wp user from the wp user admin, all the forum posts from that user will change over to be from a guest… the guest name will be the display name of the user that was deleted… think that is what you want – providing you can delete the wp user…
Is it possible to prevent a user from logging in? And therefore not having access to the forum.
That would mean we could keep them on the system and so it’s still their name attached to the forum posts for historical purposes but they would no longer be able to use the forum.
sure…. just take away their forum access… move them to a user group that has no access… of course, that usergroup will have to be assigned to your forums… and the user will need to be removed from any other usergroups…
