Display unread or recent posts on front page

In V 4.x there was an option to not display recent posts on the front page. I would like to have an option to disable recent and or unread posts on the front page, I prefer to use the drop down lists at the top of the forum.

Perhaps there is already a way of doing this without modifying the theme, if so I’ve missed it. I have one of my testers (from the other site) moaning about it already.

LOL I saw the moan.

Unless I’m missing something sp_RecentPostList() doesn’t appear to check for any options.

My guess would be to comment it out in the bottom of spGroupView.php in your themes template folder.

    sp_RecentPostList('show=10', __sp('Unread recently updated topics'));

the old template tags are still there…  they are in a plugin, but still there… that said, we have not tested them yet…  we have an open ticket to go through, make sure they work and remove any redundant with the new template tags like the one Lee points out except they will have options…

Oh he moans alright, in fact he is an Olympic contender.

However he is my most valuable ally and wouldn’t want it any other way.
