Edit Button Not Working

When I go as admin/mederator to edit a post, the edit button doesn’t work. I’ve checked all my php files for correct coding- footer, page, the_content. All present.

Inspecting element with Firebug (see below)shows “nofollow.” Not a coder so don’t know if that’s important.

<a class=”spButton spRight vtip” id=”spPostIndexEdit1″ title=”Edit this post” rel=”nofollow” href=”javascript:document.usereditpost1.submit();”><img class=”spIcon” src=”http://tspsjapan.org/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/default/images/sp_EditPost.png” alt=””>
Edit</a>

The url shows: /post title/#p1 then #p1 disappears and nothing happens.

Thanks for any help.

so- does the page actually reload and just not open the editor for that post? or does it not even reload the page?

The page reloads. No editor on screen. The “edit this post” in the Forum Toolset works fine. Initially it didn’t- none of the delete, edit, move functions worked properly but are now okay.

Curious as to what was wrong with them? Can you tell me?

It’s puzzling anyway as the edit from the toolbox and the edit from the inline button both call the same code.

You don’t have a cache plugin active do you?

Well, they work now. Go figure. I guess it just a lot more time than I’m accustomed to for the functions to kick in. No caching plugin yet.

Well, it’s back. The edit buttons don’t work, the TinyMCE plugin now doesn’t appear for new posts, and the Forum Toolset is non-functioning. As I mentioned in another post the the_content code is not in the index.php file, but is in the pages.php file. Could this be the source of the problem. All other needed code is in the correct php file.

When the edit button worked in the past I could execute an edit, but after that I could not do any editing and all the problems above began.

I am not caching the site at all.

The forum is at tspsjapan.org/scuttlebutt

Thanks for any help you can provide.

mmmm. The good news is that at least while visiting the site as a non-registered visitor I am experiencing no errors or script failures and that, believe me, is a big plus.

It also means I can not explain the problem! Especially as it appears to swing from working/not working which is always more complicated to try and track down.

Let’s start with the missing editor. Double check it is activated in the SP plugin list for me. if it is = is there any chance you could make me a temporary account and an SP Admin so I can look through the settings? If so you can PM me account details.
