Is there a way to subscribe to forum posts so you get an email for new posts? I’ve got my forums set to BuddyPress profiles, and I don’t see anything in notifications settings for it.
you will need our subscriptions plugin… I am unsure though if that option gets displayed on buddypress profiles… Ike can check tomorrow or I can on Friday when back from business travel…
I think this one should work ok not integrated with BuddyPress. I mentioned it because I wasn’t sure if I wasn’t seeing the option because I’m using the BuddyPress profiles, and I’m still not sure what all the BuddyPress integration plugin is supposed to do so I didn’t know if something wasn’t working right or what. I didn’t realize post notifications was a plugin, but I’ve got it installed now, thanks!

just verified that the subscription option is indeed displayed on the buddypress profile form… so all should be fine…

Apologies for the confusion – I hadn’t even checked, I was just trying to clarify that my original post wasn’t referring to whether or not it was integrated. That’s great that it is though!

I finally looked into this, and I can see the options below the signature field in BuddyPress profile edit, but it is a little awkward and confusing for my members, because BuddyPress already has an email notifications settings page so now I’m having to direct them to different place in their profiles to set the forum-specific email notifications.
Edit: And do they have to set that in their profile to get the email notifications after they subscribe to threads and forums? A two-part process, or am I misunderstanding something? I’m referring specifically in this question to “Receive subscription notifications in digest form (daily): [ ]”
yes… by default when you subscribe, you get a per topic notification… but users have the option to change that to a digest…
