Forum crashes in Chrome and Sfarii but not Firefox

My website (twmrc.org) works okay except for my forum page. Since this last update, the forum pulls up and then crashes in Chrome and Safari (Aw SNAP page pops up in Chrome) yet it work just fine in Firefox.

What could be causing this?

Thanks so much.

latest update of what?  WP or SP?  if you updated simple press (many thousands of upgrades btw), did you also update all the SP plugins you are using?

a crash like that must be related to a js error/conflict since its client side…

I am seeing a couple of js errors on all pages loads…  not sure why it would manifest differently on the forum page…  never seen a browser crash quite like that…

have you checked your server error logs for any info?

If you mean simple press update, did it ever work?  can you access the admin?

It seems to have started after I last updated my Simple Press to 5.5.2. I also updated all the plugins. I don’t see any conflict on the back end, however when I go to pull up the site in both Chrome and Safari, it initially starts up and then crashes. For example in Chrome it loads and then changes to an Aw Snap page.

Firefox is just fine.

You say you are seeing JS errors on all page loads. Where do I look for that? Could this be a conflict with a plug in? I have been trying to increase my page speeds.

Thanks so much!

That was it! I deactivated a WP plugin I had tried called Autoptimize and it fixed the problem. Thanks for heading me in the right direction. I should not have doubted your great plugin!

Great news that you found the issue but all the same it would nice to understand what the problem was. I will try and find some time to download and install this plugin to see if i can determine the conflict…
