The forum login button was working great and now it’s not. This is the login button that you click on and it has the accordion that drops down so you can login. Now when you put you login information into it, it simply redirects you to the WordPress login page which you have to reenter your login information into.
Here is the url to the website whitewaterretro.com. I’ve tried disabling all my plugins and clearing my cache with no luck. I believe this feature broke after the last update.
what are your settings on forum – components – login and registration?
If it was working and now its not, what changed??? something had to.. wp version, sp version, plugins, etc…

What about the other question…? What has changed? New plugins? Theme Update?
I do se one error on every page load. Not sure what it is but it is reporting an invalid redirect URL and looks like it might be somer sort of login process to facebook. Does that sound familiar? Is that something new? It might be interfering.
Also since you didnt explicitly answer, does that mean that the alternate login/registration url fields are blank??
also, since you appear to be using a CDN, can you please clear it to make sure its not holding onto something…
Yes the alternate login fields are all blank.
I went ahead and disabled the CDN for now as well just to make sure its not conflicting with anything.
I also just disabled the Facebook plugin for now as well. Nothing is new on the site everything was working fine until wordpress 4.7 and the new updates to simple press came out.
hard to see what is really going on since we cannot log in… might be able to watch the http requests and see if there is some redirects occurring…
any security plugins or server addons such as mod_security?
incidentally, your wp theme (think its that, could be plugin) is violating wp standards by loading an external, non standard jquery version…

could cause conflicts with wp themes and plugins since they expect the version that comes with wp… unlikley to be the cause here, but could cause other issues…

Mod security randomly started blocking it. My Rule sets must of updated with a new rule recently.

Mr Papa, I was browsing for login issues and found this post. I have similar problem… a user who logs in first time is taken to the WP user configuration screen instead than to the forum home page.
My configuration of the forum login and registration is the same as Kristopher and I have not changed it recently. Only things that changed are the updates of WP and all plugins. What do I do? I am a bit lost and now I understand why several people subscribed and disappeared. Today I found out because a friend told me she was lost 🙁

EDIT: to be more precise, a user who has just changed his/her password and logged on is redirected to the WP user configuration screen…
So – as it is the same problem have you checked to see if it is the same reason?
