Forum not displaying for some users

Sorry if this has been asked before… I couldn’t find anything on here addressing it.

Over the weekend we upgraded to the latest version of the forum from 4.45 (I think) and I’ve had three members tell me they can see the forum with displaying all the sub-forums but when they try to click on a sub-forum they get a page where the forum should be.

(I have it embedded into an Optimizepress membership page so there’s a sidebar and header that still displays even if the forum isn’t working)

I assume this is something on their end… browser, plugins, etc. but I don’t exactly know what. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That first bit is going to be important. The version you were on before you upgraded to V5 needs to be confirmed. We only support upgrades from version 4.5.0 or 4.5.1

Please go to the forum admin > Toolbox > Install Log and check the previous version…

It means you have missed out on all the updates and changes that were made to the database between 4.4.5 and 4.5.1.
So – hopefully you made a backup of your db… can you restore that and we can start the process again.

Hold on. Belay my comments above.

Actually you should be OK from 4.4.5 – I was mistaken – the only updates made in 4.5.1 are probably not relevant. So sorry about the panic.

Can you give me  link to your forum page s I can take a look?

No worries… I’m thinking I fixed it.

I realized the toolbox icon wasn’t displaying so I viewed page source and realized Optimizepress was calling jquery from the Google API. After commenting that line out the toolbox now displays and the members who had issues are no longer having issues.

I’m good for now, thanks!

Oh excellent. Yes – I must remember that about Optimizepress – we have been down that road before…
