Only probably when I upgraded to version 5 was that my posts are now aligned to the bottom (below the poster details!) see screenshot below:

looks to me like your avatar size is blowing the width of the column on the left.
so you either need to adjust the column widths in the spTopicView template – or – reduce the size of your avatars. probably should do the first option.
you should be able to find the 2 column template functions easily enough. see the widths defined – the first by default is set to 15%. only rule is that if you make that bigger you must make the second column smaller to balance it.
as always we recommend you make your own theme to avoid updates from us reverting your changes.
