do you have ssh access?  could give you some commands to pull data….

not likely to be around much today, I am afraid…

Not sure about the SSH, Not even sure how to get in that way, never done it.

If this dedicated server, certainly you would have ssh access… Is it coanrl/whm.?

so you can enable ssh, if its not already…  you could also go to the apache easy install to get the details on the php/apache config… is this managed or self managed?

@mr-papa – should we not just be recommending changing the wrong permission to what it should be (755)? We know from experience that many servers are geared to throw a 404 on requests from folders with this permission because it is too open and vulnerable to attack. And then making sure the UID and GUID are what they should be.

All the permissions in wp-content and everything under it are 755.

yes, we have changed the permissions… at 755, the Nobody user the scripts run under do not have write access to wp-content and lower…  the install wont even start… 

did some research yesterday and sent a few things via pm… waiting to hear back and going to do some more research today..
