Installing V5 without having to upgrade?

I’m preparing to install V5 of Simple:Press but the installation instructions are a little confusing. 

I’m using the most current version of WP (3.3.1) and I don’t have an older version of Simple:Press installed. The installation instructions on here focus on upgrading from a previous version. So, do I have to install an old version of SP and then upgrade to V5? Or can I just install V5 as a new install without installing an older version first? 

I just want to make sure before I install the forum so that I can avoid installation errors.

our install instructions for 5.0 are at: http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/installation/new-install/install/

just upload to the plugins folder, activate and install….

So I don’t have to install an older version first? The instructions you linked to are the ones I read. Forgive me: Sundays are “slow” days for me (cognitive)–lol. Thanks Mr. Papa; you’re always such a pleasant and great help.

correct. an earlier version is not required to install 5.0.
