hmmmm ive installed the plugin read the about and seen the code/shortcode to add to a widget , but cant find the included widget you mention..

I found a shorcode widget which i tried but it just displays the code on the main page not the recent posts..

Where do i find the included widget? Ive activated the plugin but see no mention of it in there either

So when you view Appearance > Widgets, there is no ‘Recent Forum Posts’ widget in ‘Available Widgets’ on the left?

It should just be a case of firstly activating the template tags plugin, then going to Appearance > Widgets and dragging the ‘Recent Forum Posts’ widget into a content slot. From there it should give you some in-widget options.

Yes thats there but im migrating from mingle forums (which is still installed, the migration tool doesnt work)

The recent forum posts widget displays the mingle forum still, i presume until i remove mingle?

I don’t 100% know the answer to that and I am unsure where and how Mingle stores it’s data but there could well be a clash – maybe just in url’s or something like that. So basically I would deactivate it as a minimum and see what transpires. It’s always possible that by coincidence, we both gave the same name to a widget!

The one im using is called ‘Forum Latest Activity’

Ill try deactivating it and see what happens….. wait for the boom ah lol

Well…… there is a very good reason this wasnt working (whistles innocently)

I installed it then activated the wrong one, that was just called Tags (downloaded a few plugins and dumped them into the folder via ftp)

So all working, thank you very much and im an idiot lol
