The image popup is being displayed behind the faded background forcing users to use the ESC key to close the image as opposed the the x on the image itself, plus the image doesn't look nearly as good as it should in this situation.

Using Unified as the theme to the forum. Happens in Safari and Chrome possibility others. You can see the error for yourself here http://www.phogropathy.com/for.....t/#p5658

Not sure if there's something I can do in the code to fix the problem or not.

Hmm - actually just checked with an unmodified Unified theme and it appears to be something on my end of the code modification. Guess it's time to trouble shoot!

If this is a custom theme then please see the standard codex article for this release and look especially for the ui-dialog section - which had to have some CSS changes due to WP styling mods:

so if the customization was basically just some small adcode and css adjustments would it probably be easier to just make a new custom theme off the updated Unified template? I'm assuming the template has been updated on your end to include all of these changes?

correct, out themes have been updated with that...  if you had a custom theme, you would need similar changes...

if you started again with our themes though, you would lose any other customizations you had made...  and would also need to move those over to the new theme...

its kind of a pain, but better than losing changes when you update....

if all goes well, in the next version of simple press, we will develop a child theme type capability where your custom theme will only need to be changes you want, not a whole new theme...  a bit like wp child themes, but hopefully better... ;)

That would be nice to see happen - luckily you guys did such a fantastic job with Unified it really didn't need too much other customization so it's not TOO much of a hassle to bring the changes over, would be nice to have a child theme type ability in the future though.

thanks...  its top of my list to work in next version... details tbd, but we want the best of wp child themes and then some improvements to it...

the tricky part is going to be overlays and keeping them working since they allow an easy way to colorize a theme...
