Layout problems – weird background color and other problems

Take a look at my forum page: http://www.passion4dancing.com/forum/general-dance-discussion/

First, you will see that there is a mix of two background colors… why it this happening?

Secondly, when you scroll down to the forum area, on the right hand side, the “posts” number and “views” number is not showing up for many of the topics. The table is all random. How can I fix this?

Please help.

Thanks

Leon

Go to the forum admin > Options > Topic Settings. Bottom right – turn off the option to ‘Show First Post Extract as Tooltip’.

The problem is that there is an HTML table in the post and the tooltip has truncated that in the middle of the table causing everything following that to be invalid. I believe this is an issue that should be resolved in V5.

Thanks that helped fix the table!

Now how about the background color mix, how do I fix that?

Colours in V5 are controlled by the SP theme you have adopted and, if supported, by the overlay you have set. To changes colours you nee to edit this overlay to the colours you wish to have.

As always we recommend that you create your own SP theme so that any customisation is not lost during a future update. (http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/themes/theme-basics/creating-a-theme/)

I am using 4.5.1.

Where do I edit the color overlays?? By the way it looks like the discoloration only happens when I view the page as a guest. When I am logged in, its fine…

No overlays in 4.5.1 You posted this in the V5 forums so it was assumed you meant V5.
V 4 skins use CSS that you will find in the appropriate skin folder.

Mhh I still don;t know how to fix this.  I don’t think its in the CSS of the skin and if its is, where??…As I said this discoloration only shows for guests. When I am logged in its one color, which is my sites theme background. Can you please tell me how to fix this?

OK – I am a guest looking at your site. You are going to have to explain to me what ‘discolouration’ you are referring to as it looks Ok to me.

By the way – after your reply I will probably move this thread to the correct forum – Version 4.4 and 4.5.

There is a discoloration in the background of the forum webpage itself. Dark grey at the top and light grey as you scroll down the page.

not entirely sure what you have going on there… but on the forum page, you are getting a specific style added which sets the html background as #E6E6E6… its causing the light grey..  other pages do not do that…

and something is adding it directly on the page itself (ie iniline or via js)…

Mh.. yeah its very strange cause all my pages background color is fine..its only like this on the forum page… I wonder if because I changed my theme’s background color it had a glitch with this forum skin..
