I do not know if it´s suposed to be like this, but everytime i lock a topic at my forum, i have to reset (f5) the page to see the lock icon. It´s the same with the “most recent topics with unread post” list. If i click the “mark all topics as read” the number resets to zero, but the icon do not change until you press f5.
yes, that is by design… the amount of effort to change them with ajax on the page was deemed not worth it (though noted for future potential) and could potential have backwards compat issues with user’s custom themes… and of course, you would know you changed them…
I’m not sure if my question fits within this thread but I couldn’t find anywhere else it might go so here it is:
Is there a way to make a thread only visible to registered users? I’d like to prevent lurking on only one of my threads so that the members who use it can share posts with each other in private. Is this possible?
At individual topic level no. Those sort of permissions can only be granted at a forum level… So the same rules would need to be applied to all topics in a forum.
By the judicial use of User Groups and Permission Sets. To be honest I would start by having a quick read of the ‘Getting Started’ section on our codex as this describes how this works in simple terms.

Yes. Although you – as a forum admin – will still be able to post to locked topics and locked forums.
