Mark post as unread for Admins

Hi –

I just moved a Forum topic from one Forum to another, and while doing so, the Topic was marked as Read. However, I would like to mark it as unread so my other Admins will see it in the Admin postbag when they log in to answer questions.  Is this possible?

Thanks!
Samantha

Sadly not without recreating the database row (in the sfwaiting table) that gets deleted after the post is dealt with. Sorry about that. It has never come up before!

I am somewhat astonished that a simple move operation should mark the post as read. I will certainly investigate that and see if I can replicate as that should not be the case.

Okay, no worries.  I will tell my fellow admins to look for the post.

I think i must have clicked on the “view” button to see the post, in order to access the Forum toolbox options.  I know now that I should just go to the Forum with the wayward post, and I should be able to move it directly from there, without actually having to open it and thus “read” it.

I’m relatively new to the whole Forum thing, and SimplePress in particular, so I am making a few newbie mistakes along the way.

Thanks for the reply!

I will test it out anyway but we did wonder if this might be the case.

For reference, marking as read (whether closing or loading post) OR just adding a reply will all take the post out of the postbag. If you want to load the post to read it and keep it in the postbag then use the topic title link on the postbag list.

I hope that all made sense!
