Good evening mr Pappa and Yellow Swordfish;

Please enlighten me:

I started new topic and new posts in SP.

It is “awaiting moderation”.

1) Where do I find the link on the menuto moderate such?

2) How doesmoderator/admin get informed or indicated to that there are topics/posts to be moderated?

(the mentioned new posts shows on the Forum page of website -http://www.justmail.za.net  as last posts by Brownbear)

Kind regards

There are currently 2 ways to approve a post in moderation assuming you have the permission to do so as all SP admins do have of course.

Firstly, in the topic view (posts) you can use the forum tools which will bring up an ‘approve post’ option on the popup menu.

If you use moderation as standard, then we would advise installing the SP Admin Bar plugin which will add a toolbar at the top of the forum (for admins) that will allow you to see all new posts, approve them quickly and even reply to them quickly.

Thanks, Yellow Swordfish

I did add toolbar as suggested above – and it shows.

BEFORE the toolba was added i created a user BrownBear

BrownBear created posts and reply to a post:

See below:

Go Green

How to go green and where are the problems

Last Post: BrownBear
And Now Comes The Rain

On the frontpage of the forum it showed:

Your post is awaiting moderation in the topic What`s your opinion?

Your post is awaiting moderation in the topic Money making from the web

Your post is awaiting moderation in the topic Money making from the web

AND I could log in as Brownbear!!!

THEN I installed and activatedthe SP Admin Bar plugin

TWO things happend:

1) The toolbar shows:

View New Posts

Unread: 0

Need Moderation: 0

Spam: 0

2) When I now try to login as BrownBear the system tells me “invalid username”

The post and topic still needs moderation and it shows as such.

`wp_sfwaiting`

contains no data.

Any suggestions please

Kind Regards

The admin bar wont go back and look at old posts. It will start to take note of new posts as from the point of activation.
It has no connection to login/logout or user-names either.

I decided to require new members to have their 1st post moderated and changed the permission forcing them to do so.

New members can post and they are notified, on the post screen, that the post is being held for moderation – this is great.

However, I as the Admin, did not get an eMail alerting me of the need to moderate.  On the top Admin bar I see a red number indicating posts need moderating but I have no idea where they are.  I have to search forum by forum looking for posts.

Am I missing something?

Thanks much…

You can turn email notification on in Your Admin options.
The button on the Admin bar that says ‘View New Posts’?… did you click on it?

I see “Need Moderation: 1” on the Admin toolbar but I can’t click it – no link to follow.

I searched for anything about notification for “needs moderation” and I couldn’t find anything.

Sorry..
