'Most recent topics with unread posts' pop-up window problem in Chrome

Hello a very minor thing but nonetheless annoying. When I clink the ‘topics with unread posts’ icon the title bar in the pop up box in chrome has around the top 20px chopped off. I also notice that I have image ghosting when I move the pop up box around the screen.

Any ideas?

looks like your wp theme is giving that dark brown bar a serious z-index…  can you check with firebug?

if they give it a high z-index than the popup dialog, it will be underneath… highest is shown on top…  kind of abnormal but no necessarily wrong for a theme to do that…

you may have to change the z-index of your sp theme dialog to be larger than that dark brown tab…

So this would be in the css tab in firebug? I ask because I do not see any z index other than the value of 1002 for the pop-up itself. The theme is quite old and I do not recall ever seeing any z values in the stylesheet. Besides, would that not manifest itself in all browsers?

I’m only seeing it in Chrome.

…and I am betting if you close the popup and then open it a second time then all is good?

If so this a problem with webkit browsers – the same in Safari – and currently we need either the webkit team or the jQuery UI team to correct it. I am monitoring this hoping it all gets fixed up soon.

Hi Andy if this was the query that you referred to, then unfortunately no. If you close and open a dozen times it will occasionally open correctly but 80-90% of the time it doesn’t.

well, if its seemingly random, then it wont be a z-index thing…  so have to see what andy finds on the jquery dialog stuff…

and maybe if you put that site in your profile website, we could remember it! smile

You’ll still need the passwords and that, no guests because we don’t have them on the real forum and the other main tester will go on and on and on……

He’s a southerner like Andy so you know laugh
