I would like to know if it is possible for a user to be apart of more than one usergroup. For example I have two types of members in my network. I have consumers and professionals.

I would like to know if A professional (pro-user) who can access a consumer member's group to answer the "Ask The Pros" Forum?

Another example is if we have a forum for the professionals who pay extra to be apart of the V.I.P. Training Forum and have them labeled V.I.P. users for this access . Also, can you have a time/calendar set for access to that particular forum for those who paid for the extra training/access for that V.I.P. Forum?

If you go to the forum admin > User Groups > Map Users to User Group - you will see at the top the option to limit users to a single user group. You need to ensure this is not turned on.

On the second question then we do not offer any sort of timed or automatic entry/exit to a User Group but there are membership type plugins available for WordPress that can achieve what you want I suspect. And as long as these abide by the wp API and standards then they will usually hook into SP correctly. For example - on this site which has memberships based on fixed periods - we use the plugin WishList Member to control this. You will find a 'How To' FAQ on our Codex that discusses the basics of using a membership plugin in this way.

Hi Yellow Swordfish,

I am using wishlist too. Ok I will look into the How To FAQ on our Codex then to see how to set this up.
